Fifteen-year-old David Hawkins Jr. wanted to create something in memory of his grandmother who received end-of-life care from Hospice of Washington County.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 252 in Hagerstown, David decided to thank the Hospice by creating a memory garden at Doey's House, an end-of-life care facility operated by Hospice at 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, east of Hagerstown.

“Hospice took care of my grandmother when she was in her last days battling cancer,” David said. “They were very kind, compassionate and helpful. I wanted to show my appreciation and thanks for everything they did.”
